FOUNDER

Roderick founded Bilt Modern to bring a designed-focused approach to rural home construction. He is the creative lead and project manager behind Bilt Modern. Roderick leveraged his background as a real estate agent and experience as an upstate homeowner himself to create a better system for building upstate. He has developed a practical method for building customizable luxury homes that blend seamlessly with the natural beauty of upstate New York. As a former photographer and filmmaker in the city, Roderick has a keen eye for beauty, form, and location. With this background and point of view, he carefully assembles the best team, material, and setting for each home. He and his family live and work in New York City and the Catskills.

ARCHITECT

Yao contributes endless creative energy and considered detailing to the design process at Bilt Modern. Her conceptual design plans align with the company philosophy of leading the market with a creative vision. With a Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and prior experience as an Associate Principal at Kohn, Pederson, and Fox in New York City, Yao is a highly skilled designer. She currently lives and works in New York City.

ARCHITECT

Justin brings deep knowledge and innovative design solutions to the Bilt Modern process. As an expert in high-end residential design and construction administration, Justin ensures the construction plans are precise, suitable, and elegant. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and has held senior architect positions at Marvel Architects and Robert Young Architects, as well as served as a project designer at Tom Winter Architects. In 2018, Justin founded his eponymous architecture firm, Blejer Architecture with projects in the larger Hudson Valley and NYC. He currently lives and works in New Paltz, NY.

ARCHITECT

Nicki is an interior design expert at Bilt Modern. Her approach is to pursue a timeless, operative space rather than to chase fleeting trends. She believes true luxury comes from the intersection of purity and performance. Nicki holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Her experience includes working as an Architectural Designer at Theory and Barlis Wedlick Architects. She runs her own architecture and design firm, DANG Architecture, in New York City.

GENERAL CONTRACTOR

JT has been building homes in upstate New York for thirty years. His broad experience and diverse skills bring certainty and conviction to the Bilt Modern building process. As a seasoned builder, JT has developed an extensive network of skilled craftspeople and sub-contractors. He carefully selects the best teams and can scale each project efficiently. JT resides in Liberty, NY, where he runs his construction company, Burnt Ridge Inc.
